TV Movies & Theatre 15th – 21st March £495.00

 
This week we will get the chance to immerse ourselves in our favourite TV soaps and films. Amongst the highlights of this popular holiday are: lunch in the Woolpack, the original pub used in Emmerdale, situated in the village of Esholt, which was also used as the original Emmerdale village. We will take the 50-minute journey to Tussauds wax works where we will mix with the stars of the stage and silver screen. We will sample one of Betty’s hot pots in the Rovers Return surrounded by characters such as Jack and Vera, in the Tussauds mock up of Coronation Street. We will spend time at the National Museum of Film and Television where we will get the chance see how a television studio works and experience a film on the giant IMAX screen. We may include an evening at the theatre depending on show schedules as well as a trip to the cinema to watch the latest blockbuster movie; the holiday will include a trip to Last of the Summer Wine country where we will get to see attractions such as Nora Batty’s house exhibition, and lunch in Sids Café along with a filming location tour,

Springtime Farm & Animal 11th – 17th April £495.00

Join us as we discover what delights and joys the British countryside has to offer in the spring. On this holiday, we will get to see at close hand how a working farm operates. As well as getting close up to animals from around the world, This week we will have the magical experience of bottle-feeding newborn lambs and goats who have become lost or whose mothers have taken poorly. We will also have the chance to hold the little bundles of fluff that are new born chickens. Other highlights of this holiday include a day at the zoo where we will see and learn about different animals from around the world. We will also get the opportunity to visit a safari park this to see some wild animals up close as they roam freely around the park. We will also be visiting an animal sanctuary: here we will be learning about the wild life native to Britain, and seeing how sick animals are cared for. We will spend our evenings creating a pictorial diary and scrapbooks of the different animals we have discovered
Highlights: Lamb & Goat Bottle feeding and petting, Zoo visit, Day at a working farm, The Chestnut Centre wildlife sanctuary. Day at a Safari park

     

Music Week 26th – 30th April £395.00

Join us for this Music extravaganza. On this holiday, we will be learning about and playing a variety of musical instruments, as well as watching the London Palladium’s longest ever running Musical- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!
We will also be visiting Liverpool, the home of one of the world’s most successful and recognisable bands The Beatles!!
This week. Our music tutor will introduce us to several musical instruments and instruct us on their use, giving us the skills to take part in an end of week percussion session. We will also be visiting the Beatles experience in Liverpool’s Albert dock before taking a Ride on the Magical Mystery tour bus stopping off at Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, along with a visit to John Lennon’s and George Harrison’s childhood homes, Finishing of with a stroll along and drinks on Mathews Lane, the home of the Famous Cavern Club where the Beatles picked up their musical influences and first made their name.
Highlights: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical, the Beatles tour Liverpool, musical instrument tuition and percussion sessions.

     

Health, Beauty & Relaxation 10th – 14th May £395.00

  Come and be pampered with us in a at Papillion holidays on our health beauty and Relaxation week. This week we will be taking things easy unwinding and relaxing,
We will start the holiday by making our own organic face masks under the supervision of our qualified beauty therapist.
On our 2nd day we will visit a health spa for Indian head massage then relax and unwind in a country pub for lunch.
On Day three we will be relaxing around our country hall accommodation, with our beauty therapist calling in for a reflexology / foot Massage sessions and an afternoon craft session creating our own Dream catchers. Dream catchers are one a fascinating traditions of Native Americans. A dream catcher was intended to protect the sleeping individual from negative dreams, while allowing positive dreams pass through. The positive dreams would slip through the hole in the centre of the dream catcher, and glide down the feathers to the sleeping person below. The negative dreams would get caught up in the web.
Day 4 sees our beauty therapist visiting for a hair nails and make up session before visiting the cinema to watch the latest romcom and lunch out.
Highlights: Health spa treatment, reflexology & Beauty treatment, Cinema

Transport Week 21st– 27th May £495.00

This week we will explore and learn about the many different forms of transport we have around us. We will step back in time as we travel aboard an old-fashioned steam train, stopping off at market towns along the way for gift shopping and lunch. We will visit the air and space museum to learn about flight from the past, present and the future. We will also be taking a leisurely canal boat trip along a beautiful stretch of the Yorkshire moorlands. We will visit the Tram Way museum at Matlock where we will get the opportunity to ride on trams from around the world, both historical and state of the art. We will also get the chance for those who wish to ride the Heights of Abraham cable car in Matlock. Each evening we will fill in your pictorial holiday diary documenting the different modes of transport we have learnt about and experienced that day.
Highlights: Steam train trip, canal boat trip, Air and Space Museum, Tramway Museum, Heights of Abraham Cable Car, Horse Drawn Carriage

Halls Castles & Gardens 1st - 6th June £495.00

This week we take a leisurely stroll through history and times gone by as we explore some of the grandest buildings and architecture the North has to offer. We will visit and tour stately homes such as Chatsworth Hall, Haddon Hall, and Cannon Hall, we will stroll through the graceful gardens, mazes and farms of these magnificent homes, admiring the Fountains, Cascades, and Sculptures as we go as well as getting up close to and feeding the animals at Cannon Hall Farm. We will pay a visit the RHS award winning gardens of Tatton Hall and stroll around its magnificent Japanese garden, along with its award winning Rose and kitchen Gardens.
We will also delve deeper into time with visits to Bolsover Castle, along with a visit to the grand architectural monument that is Calk Abby or York Minister and the street of shambles with it’s over hanging buildings dating back to the times when Dick Turpin roamed the streets of York. Of an evening, we will document our day’s activities with a pictorial diary and for those that wish there is a country pub just a few minutes walk away.

Highlights of Scotland 12th – 18th June £495.00

  This week we visit Bonny Scotland and take in the magnificent scenery, along with the historic attractions and culture this country has to offer!
We will be staying at a holiday park in the picturesque east Lothian area, within easy reach of historical Edinburgh, Sterling and the Trossochs National park.
We will spend a day in historical Edinburgh, where we will take the open top bur tour around this city steeped in history and culture, we will visit Edinburgh castle, and for those that wish the dungeons tour.
We will take the short trip to Stirling Bridge where we will take a leap into the past to the times of William Wallace (Brave Heart) we will visit Wallace’s tower monument and learn all about the Scottish freedom fighter who took on the might of the king Edward 1st and his mighty army! Keeping on the theme of the movies we will visit Rosslyn Chapel (Da Vinci code) will you be able to crack the codes and mysteries this quaint chapel keeps secret! Along with a shopping trip to the historical Stirling we will spend a day in the Trossochs National park spending time around Loch Lomond and learning about another of Scotland’s heroes at the Rob Roy visitors centre and exhibition

Early Summer North Wales 4th – 10th July £495.00

Come and join us on our early summer holiday to North Wales. There will be no set itinerary for this holiday as You will decide what activities you want to participate in from the many and varied excursions and days out around our accommodation.
You will be given choices from the attractions around us such as visits to the sea life centre, days playing sport and games on the beech, crazy golf, welsh mountain zoo, steam train rides, Ten pin bowling and many more seaside attractions: the choice is all yours. We will have a group meeting on our arrival where we will discuss what’s on offer and you simply chose your favourite activities.
We will be staying in two luxuries spacious 8-berth static homes situated within walking distance to the beach. You will have the choice of spending your evenings at the Holiday Parks entertainment and cabaret shows, or perhaps you would just like to sit and relax watching the latest DVD
Accommodation: 2 Luxury static homes at Talacre Beach Holiday resort, 4 single room places & 4 twin room places
     
 

Sport and Leisure 18th – 24th July £495.00

 
This week we will be taking part in, learning about, and visiting many different types of popular sports, past times and sporting stadium.
We will be attending a pre season Football match featuring a premiership team if possible depending on fixtures available at the time, as well as attending a Lancashire County Cricket match at Old Trafford Cricket Stadium.
Also available on this day as an optional extra excursion, and for those that wish, at a supplement determined by the club (usually around £15 - £25) there would be the chance to visit Old Trafford Football stadium, the home of Manchester United, for the official Old Trafford Stadium Tour,
There will be a visit to the National Football Museum situated at DeepDale, Home to one of the oldest football clubs in the world, Preston North End. Here we will get to see many exhibits of football memorabilia from around the world, examine haw the game has changed through the years, as well as showing off our own football skills in a penalty shoot out against a life size computerised Goal Keeper.
We will take a trip to Anfield, home of Liverpool FC and visit the museum of the most successful Football Club in English History.
We will get to see an original European Cup along with FA Cups and many more, along with cinema screenings of the clubs lustrous history.
On our tour of the Anfield Stadium, we will get to see and have photo opportunities of sites such as the Shankly Gates, the Hillsborough Memorial, as well as getting photo opportunities and the chance to sit in the Home Team dressing room, managers dug out and the famous Kop end terrace
As well as visiting sporting venues, this week we will also get the opportunity to participate in several sporting activities. We will split into teams and compete for several Papillon Holidays Sports week trophies: Beach cricket, Ten Pin Bowling, French Boules, and crazy golf being amongst the sports we will participate in as well as an end of week question of sport quiz.
All our holidaymakers will go home winners and will have a trophy presentation evening where each member of the teams will be presented with an engraved individual participation trophy along with any individual event achievement trophies they may have won throughout the week.
The itinerary for this holiday may change to include a sporting event that is not currently scheduled at the time of the brochure print, in the past this has included a athletics meeting , world championship qualifier,

Summer Holiday 1. Lancashire Coast    7th - 13th August £525
 
Join us for fun in the sun on our Lancashire coast Summer Holiday.
There will be no set itinerary for this Summer Holidays as You and the rest of the group can decide how you want to spend your time on this Holiday and what activities you would like to participate in from the varied excursions, day trips and evenings out on the Lancashire coast line! We will be spending days in Blackpool, Morecambe, The trough of Bowland, and Windermere in the Lake District, all within easy reach of our holiday park, you will be able to chose as a group from the many varied activities this area has to offer including Blackpool’s Tower, Circus, Zoo, and Pleasure beach, Bowlands Wild life sanctuaries, and Windermere’s Motor boat and Steam boat rides. You will have the choice of spending your evenings at the Holiday Park’s entertainment and cabaret shows, or perhaps you would like to sit and relax watching the latest DVD The choice really is all yours.

Summer Holiday 2. North Wales   23rd - 13th August £545

 

Come and join our fun in the sun on our North Wales Summer Holiday
There will be no set itinerary for this Summer Holidays as You and the rest of the group can decide how you want to spend your time on your Holiday and what activities you would like to participate in from the varied excursions, day trips and evenings out around North Wales! You will be offered choices from local attractions around our accommodation such as visits to the Sea Life Centre, a day playing Sport and Games on the Beach or just sitting back on a deck chair relaxing with a Barbeque Lunch. There will also be several other activities for us to choose from that are within easy driving distance from our accommodation, such as the scenic Welsh Mountain Steam Railway, the picturesque and historical castles of Beaumaris, Conway or Caernarfon, and the many different variety of animals at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, or perhaps the Stately Home and Gardens of Bodelwyddan is more to your choosing. We will have a group meeting on our arrival and we will discuss what is on offer and what our options are, you simply choose your favourite activities with the group. We will be staying in two luxurious and spacious 8-berth static homes, within easy walking distance of the beach. The holiday park offers a variety of entertainment in the evenings including bingo and cabaret acts as well as shops and arcade games. You will have the choice of spending your evenings at the Holiday Park’s entertainment and cabaret shows, or maybe you would like to sit and relax watching the latest DVD! The choice really is all yours.
